OQX began as a vision…
“…what if we were the band?”
Often artists dream of adding strings to their songs, but aren’t sure how to go about it. OQX began as a dream to collaborate with singer/songwriters on reimagined, stripped down string quartet versions of their songs. What if Orchid Quartet got together for a day of recording and filming with several artists in a row? The final product for each artists would be a professionally recorded, reimagined version of their most popular songs along with a video of the live recording. Working with a professional video crew, a state of the art recording studio, recording and mixing engineers, arrangers, and a producer can get expensive, but a ticketed concert in a unique and vibey space could fund the creation of a beautiful album! When producer Justin James Sinclair came along and independently had the exact same idea and wanted to help make the vision a reality, the project was destined to come to life.
Orchid Quartet has already collaborated with 10 artists in two rounds of OQX culminating in two live concerts. The first song (of many more to come) was just released on all streaming platforms.
