Heather is from Boise, Idaho.She studied the violin in the Eastman School of Music in Rochester and later in the Royal Academy of Music in London where she met the other members of the Orchid Quartet.

Since living in London, Heather has performed with orchestras including the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC Philharmonic and has toured throughout Europe and the Far East. She is in demand as a session musician and has worked with artists including McFly, Blue, Elton John and Katie Melua.

 Emma completed her studies at the Royal Academy of Music in 2005 where she graduated with distinction.Emma is a versatile violinist and enjoys a much varied career . She performs regularly with Northern Sinfonia and the London Chamber Players and has also works with the BBC Philharmonic and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestras.

At the other end of the spectrum, Emma has performed with artists including Elton John, Paul McCartney, Will Young and Blue and regularly appears as a support artist on Top of the Pops and Parkinson.

Kotono is a gifted Viola player and graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with distinction.She is currently a busy freelance musician performing with orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. She is a very experienced session musician and has worked with artists including Simply Red, Gnarls Barkley, Alison Moyet and Damon Albarn and has made frequent television appearances with Lemar, The Sugarbabes, McFly and the Pussycat Dolls.

Katy graduated from the Academy in 2004 with disitnction and is currently enjoying a busy freelance career in London.She works regularly with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the RTE Symphony Orchestra.Katy, like the others has also worked extensively in the commercial field and has toured the UK and America with Sir Elton John and has made appearances on Top of  The Pops and CD:UK alongside pop acts including Charlotte Church, Katie Melua and Michael Buble.
